Adventure Riding in the American West by de Vaulx, Olivier
Homage to the American wilderness: The volume specifically showcases the epic landscapes and diverse terrains of the American West. The photobook includes even chapters featuring Deserts, Dunes, Mountains, Plains, Forests, Red Rocks, and Paved Roads of the 11 Western states. This regional focus enables a more in-depth exploration of the area's natural beauty and riding opportunities. By focusing on a specific region, featuring high-quality photography, sharing a personal journey, and blending action with landscapes, "Adventure Riding in the American West" distinguishes itself from many other motorcycle-themed books.
Olivier de Vaulx is a renowned journalist and photographer working with international motorcycle magazines in the USA and Europe. He moved from France to California to cover American motorcycle racing, and spent years shooting pictures in the stadiums and on the outdoor tracks, all the while writing stories about athletes and team managers.
Olivier explored the concept of multi-weeks off-road rides during his first Continental Divide ride, a 2,500-mile crossing of the USA from Mexico to Canada. A passion was born, and his career took a sharp turn. Focusing exclusively on motorcycle travel, publishing hundreds of pages every year about his journeys, he became a specialist of adventure motorcycle travel: beside 10 years of exploring in the American West, he also reported about his adventures in Bolivia, Nepal, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Needless to say that Olivier turned his dream job into something even more satisfying: a way of life.
Now a US citizen, the professional photographer lives in Orange County with his wife. His photo books reach beyond the motorcycle enthusiasts, and are his way to share his passion for the great American outdoors while giving back to the travelers community.
